Philodendron Florida beauty

Philodendron Florida Green is a uniquely shaped Philo. It is an easy care, quick growing Philodendron so it would be a great starter plant for a new collector. For best growth this plant should be grown on a totem or trellis.

POTTING MIX
Philodendrons do best in loose, well-drained soil that is high in organic matter. They will grow in 100% sphagnum peat moss. Soilless mixtures such as peat-vermiculite or peat-perlite are also satisfactory.
WATER
When growing philodendron plants, allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. The length of your index finger to the first knuckle is about an inch, so inserting your finger into the soil is a good way to check the moisture level. Droopy leaves can mean that the plant is getting too much or not enough water. But the leaves recover quickly when you correct the watering schedule.
SUNLIGHT
Set the Philodendron in a location with bright, indirect sunlight. Find a position near a window where the sun’s rays never actually touch the foliage. While it’s normal for older leaves to yellow, if this happens to several leaves at the same time, the plant may be getting too much light. On the other hand, if the stems are long and leggy with several inches between leaves, the plant probably isn’t getting enough light
FERTILIZER
Feed philodendron houseplants with a balanced liquid foliage houseplant fertilizer that contains macro-nutrients. Water the plant with the fertilizer monthly in spring and summer and every six to eight weeks in fall and winter. Slow growth and small leaf size is the plant’s way of telling you that it isn’t getting enough fertilizer. Pale new leaves usually indicate that the plant isn’t getting enough calcium and magnesium, which are essential micro-nutrients for philodendrons.
TEMPERATURE
The ideal temperature for a philodendron is between 65 – 78°F during the day, and around 60°F at night

Although we package with the utmost care, the stems are fragile and may break during the transit.
Vines might not be as long, feel free to ask for an exact picture of your plant before you purchase.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:

Since plants are living things like us, they grow and change- just as we do! Unless the listing states otherwise, photos are ONLY representations of can be expected.
Minimal amounts of damage during shipping is very common, dropping yellow leaves/damaged leaves is a normal occurrence. I can truly only guarantee that the plant will be alive upon arrival with a healthy root system in place. I do my best to pack the plants safely to prevent any damage. Remember: Plants grow and change so even if a leaf or two arrives with some damage they will put out new ones!

As somebody who also frequently buys plants online, I understand the excitement of receiving a plant in the mail! I also understand disappointment of receiving something that is not what you anticipated. Cutting Only :
Plant Cutting propagation can be done in water or soil, but once it begins, the plant has difficult switching to the other growing medium.
If you place the cutting in water, the plant should remain in water once it grows larger. The same goes for a cutting propagated in the soil.
It is normal for your cutting to shed a few leaves over time, but if you are seeing increased leaf loss, there might be an underlying problem.
If your cutting plant has distorted leaf growth, this may be due to nutrient and/or light deficiencies, insect infestations, or too little water. Mealybugs and scale often take up residence on the plant, and can be removed with an alcohol-soaked cotton ball.
If the cutting plant leaf tips are turning brown, this is a sign of low humidity. To solve this problem, you can lightly spray your plant with water or place it in a room with a humidifier.
Bare Root Only :
Soil: Lightweight, well-aerated, fast-draining growing medium
Container: Use a small sized pot that keeps the roots tightly packed; Drainage holes are a must
Light: Although this plant will survive in low light conditions, bright indirect sunlight is best
Temperature: Daytime 70 F (21 C) and above, nighttime 60-65 F (16-18 C)
Humidity: Higher humidity than average household levels (40-60 percent)
Watering: Water when the soil is almost dry during growth phase, infrequently during winter
Fertilizing: Feed monthly with diluted water-soluble fertilizer only in spring and summer
Potted plant Only :
DO NOT WATER YOUR PLANT for at least 2-3 days.
DO NOT RE-POT for at least 6-8 weeks.
Your plant Needs to settle and acclimate. Some leaves might drop or turn yellow.

When the shipping label is created your plant(s) are picked, packaged and delivered to the USPS for shipping ON THE SAME DAY! We try our best to get the orders packaged and delivered to the USPS as quickly as possible. Orders are usually shipped within 1-3 business days of being ordered, but please allow up to 5 business days, as we only ship from Monday – Friday and subject to all Postal Holidays. The orders are shipped in the same order that Etsy sends them to us after your purchase.

Any damage to a plant must be reported to us within 3 business days and be sent with pictures of the plant and possibly the package/box for review, this is not negotiable.
