Whether for on the road or in the garden shed, the BOXIO composting toilet is the optimal portable dry flush toilet.

It is made of easy-to-clean, very robust plastic, and we have specifically paid attention to sustainability in purchasing and development.

The boxes come from a prestigious German manufacturer and are made from regenerated plastic. The urine-diverting insert is also produced in Germany from a regenerated plastic.

The use is extremely easy: open it, sit on it, and start using it. The liquid is drained into the canister and can be easily disposed of from there into the nearest drain. The solid is separated from it and collected in a bag in the rear bucket. There it should be dried with a desiccant such as our hemp litter to capture the odor. The filled bag can easily be disposed of in the nearest trash can.

Started as a small innovative start-up, loved all over the world.

Originally, we designed the BOXIO just for us.

With our BOXIO products we want to offer the most convenient and useful camping products. Our products are especially convenient due to the box format, the boxes can be stacked well and easily transported.

It all started in 2017:

In 2017, Arvid started building his own trailer on a simple chassis. In about a year and a half, he thus built a magnificent Tiny House for his family. He was inspired by many simple and intelligent solutions and so he came up with the idea of building a urine-diverting toilet for his trailer.

2020: The community garden without a wastewater connection:

The community garden where Arvid was gardening with friends also never had a proper toilet. At first it didn’t feel like a problem, but it quickly became clear that “no toilet” can’t be a long-term solution. However, from his point of view, there was still no decent separation toilet on the market, so he decided to build his second composting toilet.

2021: Start of development:

In the spring of 2021, it was clear: we would use our know-how in product development and design our own composting toilet. We want to keep it simple with best value. But as always in life, the devil was in the details.

With our demand for a product that would meet all these requirements, our three engineers and various suppliers worked with us to develop a wide variety of prototypes. Our friends enjoyed countless toilets on the prototypes until we finally came up with the perfect format and accessories for you!

2022: thousands of satisfied customers in europe:

In 2022, we started selling our products in europe and we convinced many thousands of customers. We enjoy top ratings on all review platforms and more than 90% of our customers said that they never want to travel without their BOXIO again. The others probably just use their BOXIO at a fixed location.

Now we are exciting to expend to North America.
