We are offering New York Fashion Bazar Magazines for the year 1885 in a bound volume. 12 issues from January to December 1885, plus a Special Christmas Issue. Each issue has a fold-out color plate (a total of 13 plates) of several women dressed in the latest Victorian fashions. Published by George Munro, New York. Designed and furnished by Messrs. Lord & Taylor, New York. Showcased in the magazines are the latest New York and Paris Fashions – Winter Fashions, Early Spring Fashions, Spring Fashions, Spring & Summer Fashions, Early Fall Fashions, Fall Fashions, and Winter Fashions (new for December) – as you can see besides fashions for the four seasons, there are fashions for the transition of one season to the other. Pretty amazing!
**CONDITION** – magazines are, for the most part, Very Good/Excellent. It appears that the color plate for the December issue, when it was folded over, a portion of a lady’s skirt somehow got stuck to the other side of her skirt, leaving a hole on one side of the skirt and paper residue stuck to the other side – a little hard to explain – (see images). The covers show wear and use.
