Questions you will concern about !
If this device tracks your computer information?
Afraid of plugging anything into my computer this mouse jigger will not track any information.
It will just be recognized as a regular mouse.
How do I know if it’s working?
You’ll see the mouse pointer moving depending on which speed setting you are on. Either small continuous movements, big continuous movements, or tiny movements about 1 pixel per second.
How does this work? does the computer recognize this as a mouse and the usb device moves internally? or is there code that is run?
This device communicates with the PC as though it were a generic, USB mouse. It sends the same type of signals that your mouse would send.
It randomly sends up, down, left, and right mouse signals which move the pointer randomly as though you were moving an actual mouse randomly.
Why does it need to be undetectable?
This is an issue if you work from home (WFH) and remotely use company IT resources on your computer or theirs or in the office and want to keep the computer awake at all times. The IT dept when remoting into your computer can access the device manager to see the devices you have connected. Undetectable just means the jiggler is not identified as such in the device manager and supposedly IT won’t know you are using one to keep your computer awake. I question if the IT dept has any experience or “common sense”.
Some bosses keep tabs on their employees’ productivity by watching to see if they were idle at their computers. If you get up from your desk to take a break, the bathroom, get lunch, your mouse is no longer active, and your status in, say, a chat app like MS Teams, will turn from active to idle. To avoid these issues, people turn to mouse-moving solutions. They come in hardware/usb and software/apps. Downside to software is that it could be detectable if work monitors or even allows you to install apps on the computer.
